MATUMAINI - VE / HOUSE OF JOY COOPERATION

Matumaini-ev is a charitable association based in Germany which was founded in 2015 with the purpose to support the school and provide sponsorship opportunities for needy children.

In April 2018 the founders of Matumaini-ev Vanessa Heuser and Kathrin Weiss visited our school with the aim to know the school and also to have time to interact with the Administration team and the teaching staff and to have time with the sponsored children.

"Matumaini" is the Swahili word for "Hope". Hope for our children.

·         Matumaini operates and supports the House of Joy school project in Kenya.

·         The Association provides and manages sponsorships for needy children in the region.

·         Matumaini also collects funds for projects within House of Joy and monitors the correct usage.

As should be expected, all members' work is voluntary. When administrative expenses incur members pay for such from their own pockets. In this way every donated Euro is spent only on the project and used for the children in Kenya.

Matumaini-ev though related to House of Joy Learning Centre does not run the school and is not involved in the direct management of the school. The Association has no administrative costs therefore guaranteeing that 100% of all donated funds reach the children and the school in Kenya.
